Center for Urban Ecology was founded in 2003 to promote sustainable and social place development in Norway. The main objective is to promote an urban development that reduces environmental impacts and social problems of urban areas. The center has carried out several projects within fields like energy performance of buildings, transportation and land use planning, and social and participatory urban development.
An important element in our work is dissemination of knowledge and interest for urban issues. The objective has been to disseminate complex issues related to urban development in new and inspiring ways by applying a diversity of tools. To achieve this Center for Urban Ecology stresses the importance of getting inspiration and knowledge from other European countries in the work for promoting measures in Norway.
